Alan Pardo was born in Barcelona in May 27th 1979. Music was already part of his childhood because his father, as a real enthusiastic, created a music atmosphere at home with vinyls of Hendrix, Led Zeppelín, CCR, Camel, Stevie wonder, Pat Metheny... Different styles that educated his musical ear sense and taste. So it's not surprising that at the age of 14 all this background and interest for music started to take shape with his first approach to the guitar. However, it wasn't until the age of 18 that he really realized that music would be irreversibly part of his life.
As a self-taught person, he started to lap up books of guitar theory and methods, reaching a basic level in just a few months. Thanks to his first teacher Pepe Gómez, he was approached to the Blues, a genre that has deeply influenced his style as a guitarist. For several years, he studied the theory and technique of the genre born in New Orleans, and he concluded that the most important element in Blues, and music in general, is the feeling; theory and technique are just a tool to express such emotions. That's the reason he considers himself a guitarist of feeling. For two years, he continued his education at "Tallers de Músics", a reference institution in Barcelona, achieving an intermediate degree in music and being taught by Ricky Sabaté and Cristina Canet, among others. Meanwhile, he has trained himself through the participation in many Jam sessions, where the improvisation forces one to use and develop the music skills previously acquired. As a guitarist and composer, he was part of the pop-rock band Puntos Suspensivos, that obtained some awards like the First Price of the Festival de Curtmetratges de Manlleu 2010 (Short Film Festival) with the song No me lo puedo creer, composed by Alan Pardo and Susana Soriano. In order to extend his education, in 2011 he enrolled at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Musicology, a 4-year undergraduate program (expected end date july 2015). Nowadays, he works as a professional guitarist and composer, while he is finishing his studies.
He has recently moved to Toronto (ON, Canada), in order to enrich his musical career and personal experience.
